Many websites, forms and job portals reject photos above a strict size limit — 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB. A normal compression slider only changes quality; it does not guarantee a target file size. Here is how to reliably reduce an image to any exact KB size.
Why "compress more" is not enough
Lowering JPEG quality reduces file size, but the relationship is not linear. At some point quality collapses while the file barely gets smaller. A target-size compressor solves this by testing multiple quality settings automatically and picking the highest quality that still fits under your limit. If even the lowest quality is too large, it gently reduces dimensions until the target is reachable.

- Check the final size and reduction percentage, then download.
When the exact target is not reachable
Very small targets on very large photos may force heavy reduction. A good tool will tell you and deliver the closest achievable result instead of silently destroying the image. If you need an even smaller file, consider also resizing the image first.
